Europe is merely the first evening walk.

Bonapawte stands on a map-covered crate beside a tent and a biscuit tin, overlooking a valley at sunset

The Campaign

At sunset, Bonapawte reviews the valley from a conveniently low rock. His cape carries the wind; his hat carries the authority. Every road becomes a campaign, every village bakery a strategic objective. He advances at dachshund pace: determined in front, surprisingly lengthy behind. By supper, the map is creased, the biscuit tin is lighter, and the empire has moved three hedges east. No summit remains uninspected.

Command Style

Imperial Bearing

He surveys every horizon as though it has already agreed.

Domestic Priorities

He abandons every horizon when the biscuit tin opens.

Long live the low commander.
